Hondana compared
Hondana is for the book on the shelf. These pages say what that changes, and when the other tool is the right one.
Hondana vs MyAnimeList
MyAnimeList answers “have I read this manga?” Hondana answers “which book is on the shelf?” A MAL entry is one series with a reading status. A Hondana entry is one volume range of one edition, with possession and reading stored separately.
Hondana vs Goodreads
Goodreads records books people have read or want to read, across every kind of publishing. Hondana records manga and light novels you physically own, one edition and volume range at a time. A Goodreads “edition” is closer to a product page. A Hondana edition is a line of volumes with its own numbering.
Hondana vs a spreadsheet
A spreadsheet is an honest shelf: rows, columns, and no one else's opinion. It gets worse at the moment two editions share a volume number, or a barcode should have filled the row for you. Hondana is that sheet with a catalog behind it, and the export is the sheet.
